Compassion with accountability
Helping people turn insight into change.
Kelly Frost brings a warm, direct, and nonjudgmental approach to domestic violence intervention treatment. His work at Whatcom DVIT focuses on helping participants recognize harmful patterns, take responsibility for their choices, and practice more respectful ways of relating to others.
As executive director of Clarity Mental Health & Recovery, Kelly combines a background in mental health and substance use counseling with a strong interest in mindfulness and group therapy. He earned his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and draws on approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing.
In DVIT, that perspective supports a clear purpose: understanding thoughts and emotions while remaining accountable for behavior. The work emphasizes the impact of abuse, respect for boundaries and autonomy, and concrete skills participants can practice between sessions. Kelly aims to make room for honest reflection, meaningful engagement, and sustained personal change.
Kelly is also EMDR certified and IFS Level 1 trained.
